Dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA for short), chemical name 3-β-hydroxyandrost-5-ene-17-one, also known as dehydroepiandrosterone, is a cholesterol-retaining △5,6 double Bond and esterifiable 3-β-hydroxy steroid, is an adrenal hormone precursor secreted by the reticular layer of the human adrenal cortex, which has the functions of regulating obesity, preventing diabetes, anti-carcinogenic and viral infections, improving memory, immune response and stress. Physiological activities such as reaction and tension reduction are intermediates in the manufacture of steroid hormones, and are involved in the synthesis of adrenal glands to secrete various hormones.
