Description
Caffeic acid, scientific name: "3-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)-2-propenoic acid." Molecular formula: C9H8O4; the molecular weight: 180.16. It is presented in plants such as coffee in the form of chlorogenic acid. It is yellow crystals with melting point being 223~225 °C. When it is precipitated in concentrated solution, it contains no crystal water.
